Exciting New Addition!

We did not plan on adding another dog. We were quite content at 6. In fact, we said we would not add another dog! However, sometimes a once-in-a-lifetime offer springs upon you and you have to go with your heart over your brain (pesky logic!).

We'll be adding another dog on Friday.

See, the thing is that anybody who knows me (really knows me) will tell you that I have dreamed of an Ibizan Hound for years. I really fell in love with them when researching breeds (and ending up with a Galgo) but figured I would never have one. I really didn't think I could afford one and they don't often show up in rescue. I even started trying to convince myself I did not want one because I wanted one so badly. Isn't that funny?

A friend of mine, Marissa, is getting a Beezer puppy from a litter very soon. I joked about wrapping one of them up for me and before I knew it she messaged me about Nova. Marissa is awesome...and an enabler! Ha ha ha! And somehow in crazy dog-pedigree land we are now related through our boys.

Nova is a show quality Beezer. He's shown at the Ibizan Hound Nationals. He's has points in straight racing. Best of all, he's a sweet, laid back boy who has lived with (and loves) Greyhounds and has huge potential. He is a correct, beautiful example of the breed. I never thought in a million years I would end up with a dog like this. It is through unfortunate circumstances (his loving owner has some medical reasons) but I am very grateful that his owner and breeder are entrusting me with this amazing dog.

Now...I have to learn how to show dogs! I am going to sign up for handling classes. I also would like to try to run him (lure course) and try some agility. Maybe obedience? We'll see where our journey takes us.

He'll be here Friday. I am so stoked! So, on Friday, please help us welcome
L-Wynds Gone SuperNova to our family.

P.S. Don't be offended if I did not think to tell you personally. He's coming at the end of a week that has 2 huge papers due, Delilah's spay, my doctor's appointment, and other things going on. I'm lucky to remember my own name this week!
