The vet called with Argos' biopsy results Monday morning. It was a Basal-cell carcinoma. She got very clear margins and said that most of the time it does not come back. He's bounced back from surgery extremely well after the first two days and is back to his happy, playful, snuggly self. We have been overcome with worry but trying not to let him know. We were praying hard for benign but we are so thankful that this should be the end of it and that it is not worse. We'll continue to keep an eagle-eye out for any lumps in the future. I'm so glad we caught this one early and had it taken off so quickly.
Dr. Cuoto of the Ohio State University Greyhound Wellness Program e-mailed me and told me that "removal should be curative" so he also believes that this should be the end of it.
We're praying that he never has to go through this again and will keep a very watchful eye out for anything odd.
