Nahala Heron and Hound I Speak for the Trees - "Aziza"

This blog will chronicle the adventures in raising an Ibizan Hound puppy. Follow along as we chronicle the zany life and times of a beezer baby destined for a future filled with love, fun, and lots of "YAY!".

Aziza is out of a litter that we really wanted a puppy from. When it came time for the litter to be bred we were struck with major health issues with Lorelei and had to step down from the litter waiting list to care for our senior girl. We were not sure that the timing would be right bringing a puppy home because we did not know what Lorelei was facing, health-wise. So, I sadly watched the litter grow up and a tiny little pinto girl, Thing 2, really caught my eye. She was described as being very laid back and sweet (our kind of beezer!) and I fell in love. While she was growing up we were getting answers about Lorelei and having her medical issues cared for. When I saw a post about a puppy being unexpectedly available I messaged Meegan and the rest is history. I really believe that sometimes "things" work out when you least expect them to! Our sweet little girl is coming home on April 16th and we could not be more excited!

Aziza is the perfect name for several reasons. It has obvious belly dance connections. It also connects to her registered name, Nahala Heron and Hound I Speak for the Trees. The Aziza are a supernatural race in West African mythology. They live in the forest, specifically in silk-cotton trees, and provide good magic for hunters and practical and spiritual knowledge to people, including the use of fire. They literally speak for the trees! The word also means "precious". So, we have a connection to her registered name, hunting (an important part of being a beezer), dance, fire, magic, and mythology...all things that mean a lot to us. ♡ It also pays tribute to my heart dog, whose name was Demon Dancer, due to the supernatural and dance.
