Finnegan took Winners Dog on Saturday at the Greenville show. This was his second show weekend and his very first point! Good boy! He is the first puppy from his litter to be pointed.
Nova was shown by our good friend Gina (his Auntie Gina) and he looked really nice. He took Winners Dog on Sunday and earned a point. Good boy!
Finnegan loves showing so much that he tried to jump back into the ring when he was done. He wanted to show again! Silly puppy.
These photos are awful and washed out, but you get the idea.
Delilah finished in the top 20 in AKC coursing for Greyhounds.
Nova finished as the #14 dog in ASFA singles.
Way to go guys! Not too bad for him only competing in singles at the Winter Challenge and her only competing 5 times this year. We're looking forward to 2013!
Since Delilah is out of commission due to her injury, Nova was the only hound who got to run this weekend. He's a singles dog at the moment. He took High Scoring Single two days in a row scoring the two first placements that he needs for a singles title. He also took 2nd on the third day and a 4th the last day (he's never competed 4 days in a row and he was pretty tired). I added up the points he should have earned and, if my count is correct, he should have earned 71 points towards the 100 he needs for his title. Not too bad since he had 0 points when the weekend started.
We spent the weekend in Camden, SC at a lure coursing trial. Nova got the second leg of his JC and is now L-Wynds Gone Supernova JC!
Delilah took Best of Breed both days!! She got so many wonderful compliments from long-time coursing folks and the judges. :) Several people told me that she was really in the running for best in field on Sunday because her run was so awesome. Good girl Baby Bean! Not bad for a newbie. ;)
Finnegan had 2 great puppy runs and made lots of new puppy, dog, and human friends.
We had a blast hanging out with friends and awesome dogs. Lure coursing is so much fun. :)
Hopefully I can upload more pictures soon!
Delilah and Nova got to go lure coursing for a day in Tennessee with their friend Miles the Greyhound. Nova picked up a leg of his Junior Courser (JC) title. Good boy Nova!! He also ran a great practice with another Beezer. He had a blast.
Delilah QC'd so that she could compete (thanks again to Kenzie the awesome QC queen Beezer!). Our little girl ran her heart out big time! She ran 4 full courses in total and won 1st in Open and only lost Best of Breed by 1 point to the dog who took Best in Field! Not too shabby for her first time coursing competitively She picked up her very first AKC coursing point and a leg towards her Senior Courser (SC) title. Good girl Delilah!!!
This past weekend I took Nova and Delilah down to Georgia to go lure coursing! For those of you who know me in real life, you know that I adopted a Greyhound puppy with hopes of having a lure coursing dog since my retired racers all have old injuries that prevent them from competing. After Delilah became Justin's "baby" he fretted about her hurting herself in competition. Luckily, I finally convinced him to let me take her. She had a blast of course! Unfortunately, she slipped her pads and could only run once. However, we are going to work on her pads and let her run again as soon she heals up and there is a meet. Nova has run LGRA in the past and is pointed, so I was pretty sure he would take to coursing as well. He did not let me down! He ran 4 times this weekend, and got his ASFA certification and became a Qualified Courser with AKC. He's ready to compete after he practices some more and we know that he won't get distracted by other intact males. :)
I took well over 1,000 pictures and I'm pretty sure nobody wants to shift through them all. So, I will post highlights here later. For now, here are some videos.

Nova and I showed at the Greenville Kennel Club cluster this past weekend. On Friday, February 17th, we got our first Best of Breed together! This meant that we got to go to the hound group ring. It was a very exciting day. This was not Nova's first time but it was mine. Nova was a Group 3 winner in a puppy match at just 4 months old but that was before he came home to me. Luckily, my husband and the professional photographers caught some good pictures. Hopefully we'll get another chance to see a group ring sometime soon. :)
These pictures are from Saturday at the same show. Nova got Reserve on Saturday.
Nova had a blast doing 2 practice runs at the LGRA meet in Camden, SC. Jason also ran and did awesome. Lucky Girl and Z were not amused. It was a fun day and we can't wait to go again!
